Important Note:

Installation & Assembly:

After assembling the bike for the first time, a user must rotate the pedals one complete revolution to power up the console. If the console briefly powers up then goes out, or fails to power at all, the internal LiPo battery is most likely not connected and / or empty (not so likely but possible).

Pedal the bike, above 50RPM. If the message “NO BATTERY CONNECTED” briefly appears at the top of the console screen, the internal LiPo battery has not yet been connected.

LiPo Battery Charging:

During transportation & storage, it is possible for the LiPo battery to lose its charge over time. The LiPo battery is re-charged by the user pedaling the bike, via the built in generator. Please see specific LiPo Battery charging information below:

  • Charging the bikes’ internal LiPo battery via the built-in generator:
    • Pedaling 50 – 59 RPM: the built in generator powers up the console but doesn’t charge the bikes’ LiPo battery.
    • Pedaling 60 – 69 RPM: the built in generator powers up the console and also begins to charge the LiPo battery.
    • Pedaling >70 RPM: the built in generator powers up the console and charges the LiPo battery at the fastest rate.

Battery Console Status Display:

  •  The WHITE battery icon will be displayed if the battery is getting low.
  •  The RED battery icon will appear when the battery is nearly depleted.
  •  The GREEN battery icon indicates the battery is charging, and visible when pedaling >60 RPM.

Note: If the battery is fully charged, a battery symbol will not be visible on the console. If the battery is deep discharged or defective, the red battery symbol will blink, and a “NO BATTERY CONNECTED” will be displayed on the console (visible when pedalling >50 RPM).

Customer Support – LiPo Battery Troubleshooting – Issue & Solution:

  • The red battery symbol  is showing:
    • The LiPo battery has lost nearly all charge so the user must pedal the bike to begin charging the LiPo battery:
      • Pedaling 60 – 69 RPM: the generator powers the console and begins charging the LiPo.
      • Pedaling ≥ 70 RPM: the generator powers the console, charging the LiPo at the fastest rate.
  • The console briefly powers up then goes out, or fails to power at all:
    • Check that the battery is connected – see ‘how-to’ video shown above.
  • The battery doesn’t charge, even after 10 minutes pedaling >60 RPM:
    • Ensure the TFT v.2.0 console is updated to SW v. ≥ 5.401, then re-test.

  • IC6, IC7 & IC8 Bikes fitted with TFT v.1.0 console – Power Module replaced but now LiPo Battery won’t charge:
    • Power Modules with later production dates also include a hardware change.
    • Updating the console SW to v.4.13 also updates the Power Module to v.84.
    • If a Power Module needs to be replaced in the field, and to ensure these Power Modules continue to charge the LiPo batteries, the SW must be updated to v.4.13.
